Widespread use of the internet only started 20 years ago, but the level of complexity has increased at a staggering rate that leaves many intimidated.  This seminar focuses on internet issues of privacy and helping manage temptation.  It is intended for youth who wish to learn how to protect themselves and parents who want to support their childrens’ desire to remain pure.  We will be exploring trends towards an “open source” life (a life where little or nothing is private) as exemplified in sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and more.

Jesus prayed “My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. ).  This will be our goal as well.  We will be learning how to use technology safely rather than advocating avoidance.

The registration deadline for YC this year is Feb. 21.  This is not an official Jr. High event (our big spring event is our annual camping trip, yay!), but for those of you interested, be sure to register with Paster Syd by the deadline.
