Widespread use of the internet only started 20 years ago, but the level of complexity has increased at a staggering rate that leaves many intimidated.  This seminar focuses on internet issues of privacy and helping manage temptation.  It is intended for youth who wish to learn how to protect themselves and parents who want to support their childrens’ desire to remain pure.  We will be exploring trends towards an “open source” life (a life where little or nothing is private) as exemplified in sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and more.

).  This will be our goal as well.  We will be learning how to use technology safely rather than advocating avoidance.

Ellerslie is encouraging its congregation to spend time reading the Bible each day this year.  As part of this focus, day planners are available from the church (while supplies last) which have daily suggested readings.  Several reading options are available ranging from a devotional verse each day to reading the entire Bible in a year.

Whether you don’t know anything about the Bible or would like to deepen your knowledge, we highly recommend spending time daily with God and are pleased to offer this material provided by The Bible League of Canada.  A downloadable PDF list of the suggested readings is also available through their website.
